Diwali Lights

 The tiny light-bulbs flickered,
 Blinked and tittered;
 Some fast,
while some with a pace, metered.
 Some shone bright
 in monochrome colours,
 Others chose
 company of multi-hued peers.
 Some fell like Rapunzel's hair
 from the rooftop
 to the ground below.
 Some lay in curls,
 On ledges and windows.
Swaying gently in the passing wind.

 They seemed to enjoy
 Their day of freedom,
from the dark lofts and attics.
Had written this last year on Diwali eve.

Wishing everyone the very best during this festival of lights. Happy Diwali.

    1. Am so sorry….somehow this comment of yours seems to have gone into spam box. Thank you so much for liking this write of mine…Yes..LED lights have become so commonplace these days and replacing the mysticism associated with the light from Diyaas.
Sending you Diwali greetings, albeit belatedly. 🙂

      1. Thats not a problem 🙂
Same happens with my comment section too 🙂

I Just hate to see how artificial Diwali looks with all those LEDs. Decoration is ok.. but overdoing it makes the charm of the traditional oil lamps dim 😦
